Innovative next-generation PreZent™-A adjuvant system

Adjuvant systems like PreZent™-A are known to stimulate both cell-mediated and humoral immune responses.1 PreZent-A is responsible for the vaccine’s new breakthrough fetal protection and exceptional BVD respiratory protection.

Vaccine efficacy depends upon two key ingredients: antigens and the adjuvant. Driving the superb immune response achieved from using CattleMaster® GOLD™ is breakthrough science adjuvant.

The PreZent-A adjuvant system is comprised of three critical components that work together on a molecular level to bind with and facilitate delivery to the body’s antigen-presenting cells. The three components are:

  • Quil A
  • Cholesterol
  • Amphigen®

Quil A. Quil A is a highly refined form of saponin, a plant-derived biochemical that stimulates both cell-mediated and humoral immune responses.

Cholesterol. When added in the appropriate proportion, cholesterol eliminates the less desirable effects of Quil A. Multiple helix-like structures form as cholesterol layers and chemically bond with Quil A, exposing the molecule’s sugar units that help stimulate an immune response.

Amphigen. The addition of Amphigen to the Quil A-cholesterol complex further enhances the immune response. Amphigen features micelles—tiny oil droplets coated with non-irritating lecithin, a natural soy product, that allows more antigen to attach than would attach to traditional oil-based droplets. Amphigen also minimizes adverse local reactions at the injection site.

Proprietary high shear-force processing results in:

  • Highly uniform and stable particle size.
  • Increased surface area for antigen presentation.

Advantages of PreZent-A

Delivers unprecedented protective levels with:

  • New breakthrough fetal protection.
  • Exceptional BVD respiratory protection.
  • Long duration of immunity.
  • Micro-droplets up to 100X smaller than comparable vaccines.
  • Reduced injection-site irritation.
  • Excellent syringeability—at least 2X better than other leading killed BVD vaccines.2
